Designing calm, trustworthy telehealth care at scale

Designing calm, trustworthy telehealth care at scale

In 2019, telehealth products in the local market were fragmented, hard to trust, and difficult to use, especially for Arabic-speaking users. Klnk was designed as a mobile-first telehealth platform that makes virtual care feel reliable, human, and structured for both patients and physicians.

A Calm, Trust-Building Entry Into Care

  • Clear brand introduction that humanizes telehealth from the first screen

  • Fast sign-in and registration paths with minimal friction

  • Immediate access to care through specialty-based discovery

  • Appointment confirmation designed to reassure and close the loop

From Real-Time Care to Structured Follow-Up

  • Multiple consultation modes (chat, audio, video) designed for flexibility and urgency

  • Real-time interaction supports rich inputs like images and voice notes

  • Visit context and timing clearly communicated to reduce anxiety

  • Post-visit actions structured into tests, follow-ups, and medical notes

  • Notifications used as a continuity layer, not just alerts

A Living Medical Record Built for Ongoing Care

  • Centralized medical record designed as a reusable, long-term asset

  • Step-based structure makes complex health data easy to create and maintain

  • Clear separation of categories improves readability and recall

  • Supports both patient understanding and physician efficiency

Designed for Doctors, Not Just Patients

  • Dedicated onboarding flow for physicians, distinct from patient registration

  • Structured doctor profiles that build patient trust and credibility

  • Configurable follow-up rules to support medical protocols

  • Appointment scheduling tools designed to reduce operational overhead

Care That Continues Beyond the First Visit

  • Follow-up appointments treated as a first-class flow, not an afterthought

  • Clinic schedules designed around real physician availability

  • Clear separation between current visits, follow-ups, and future care

  • Patient data remains accessible and actionable during ongoing care

Closing the Visit Without Breaking Continuity

  • Visit closure designed as a controlled medical step, not an abrupt ending

  • Physician-led follow-up scheduling based on clinical rules and patient condition

  • Diagnosis and examination results delivered as clear, actionable artifacts

  • Communication channel remains open to support post-visit clarification

  • Patient feedback collected without interrupting care flow

Design Impact

  • Trust-First UX: Designed flows that reduce anxiety in high-stakes medical decisions

  • Dual-Persona Design: Balanced patient simplicity with physician structure and efficiency

  • Scalable Care Architecture: Built modular records and flows adaptable across medical specialties

  • Localization by Design: Treated Arabic support as a first-class UX requirement, not a translation layer

  • Health-Grade Clarity: Prioritized calm visuals, predictable patterns, and transparent actions over feature density
